Dubai has the reputation of being an excellent shopping destination. Dubai's Airport claims to be the world's #1 duty free store.
Does it stack up?
I found the prices far better than Singapore but less than impressive when compared with the USA.
But that's just my American-centric opinion.
The rest of the passengers on my EgyptAir flight from Dubai to Cairo found Duty Free in Dubai to be a shopping paradise. Easily 50% of the overhead storage on our plane was white duty free bags - it seemed like everyone had one.
